YouTube is making tools to detect deepfakes

YouTube is developing AI detection tools to protect creators from unauthorized use of their likenesses.

The company plans to launch face-detection technology and synthetic-singing identification features in early 2024.

These tools will allow creators, actors, musicians, and athletes to identify and manage content using AI-generated versions of their faces or voices.

The synthetic-singing tool will be integrated into YouTube's Content ID system.

YouTube emphasizes its commitment to enhancing human creativity with AI rather than replacing it.

💰 Alleged fraudster got $10 million in royalties using robots to stream AI-made music

A North Carolina man, Michael Smith, faces fraud charges for allegedly uploading hundreds of thousands of AI-generated songs to streaming services and using bots to play them billions of times.

Smith reportedly earned over $10 million in fraudulent royalties since 2017.

He's accused of wire fraud conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering conspiracy.

Prosecutors claim Smith created and uploaded the tracks with an AI music company CEO and a music promoter, using fake account details and VPNs to avoid detection.

🔍 Anthropic unveils Claude Enterprise

Anthropic has launched Claude Enterprise, a new AI chatbot subscription plan for businesses, competing with OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise.

Key features include a 500,000 token context window, Projects and Artifacts workspaces, GitHub integration, and enhanced security controls.

The plan allows companies to upload proprietary knowledge and use Claude for various tasks. Early adopters include GitLab and Midjourney.

While pricing isn't disclosed, it's more expensive than the Team plan.

Anthropic aims to gain broader adoption to offset inference costs and generate revenue.
