🍏 Apple iPhone 16 event set for September 9

Apple has officially announced its highly-anticipated iPhone 16 event for September 9. Apple is using the tagline “It’s Glowtime” for the event, which will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET.

The lineup is rumored to feature larger screens on Pro models and a new dedicated camera button.

All models may include the Action Button, previously exclusive to iPhone 15 Pro. Apple Watch Series 10 and new AirPods could also debut.

The devices are expected to support Apple Intelligence AI features. Major operating system updates, including iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, are likely to follow soon after the event.

🤑 Ethics vs. Profits: DeepMind Workers Challenge Google's AI Principles

Google DeepMind workers have signed a letter urging the company to drop military contracts, citing concerns about AI technology being sold to military organizations via cloud contracts.

The letter, signed by about 200 employees, argues that such involvement contradicts DeepMind's ethical AI principles.

Employees are particularly concerned about Google's contracts with the US and Israeli militaries, including Project Nimbus.

The letter calls for denying military access to DeepMind's AI and establishing a new governance body. Google maintains that it complies with its AI principles, but employees claim they've received no meaningful response from leadership.
