👀 OpenAI Japan reveals 'GPT-Next'
OpenAI Japan's CEO, Tadao Nagasaki, revealed hints about the company's upcoming release at a Tokyo business summit.
He presented a graph showing OpenAI's trajectory, which included a mysterious "GPT Next" model slated for 2024.
This suggests a major update is coming by year-end. The new model is anticipated to be approximately 100 times more powerful than GPT-4, indicating a significant leap in AI capabilities.
💰Ilya Sutskever’s startup, Safe Superintelligence, raises $1B
Safe Superintelligence (SSI), an AI startup co-founded by ex-OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, has secured over $1 billion in funding from various investors.
The company plans to use the funds for computing power and hiring researchers in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv. Reuters reports that SSI is now valued at $5 billion.
Sutskever previously led OpenAI's Superalignment team before leaving the company following a disagreement with CEO Sam Altman and other board members.
