🤖 Meet Figure 02 - the world's most advanced AI robot

Figure has unveiled its latest humanoid robot, Figure 02, showcasing improvements over its predecessor. The new model features enhanced communication capabilities through a partnership with OpenAI, allowing for natural language interaction.

Figure 02 boasts six RGB cameras, improved hands with 16 degrees of freedom, and enhanced computing power.

The company has begun pilot programs with BMW, demonstrating the robot's potential in industrial settings. Figure aims to expand its applications beyond factories to commercial and home environments.

This development highlights the growing interest in humanoid robots, with major tech companies investing in Figure's technology. The integration of AI and advanced robotics continues to push the boundaries of human-robot collaboration.

👀 Silicon Valley's Latest Flop

Humane's AI Pin, priced at $700, is struggling to gain traction in the market.

Internal sales documents reveal that only about 7,000 units are currently in use, far short of the company's initial goal of 100,000 sales in the first year. With approximately 10,000 units sold and 3,000 returned, the product is being criticized for its limited utility and potential safety issues.

Tech reviewer Marques Brownlee called it "the worst product" he had ever reviewed.

Humane is exploring options, including a possible acquisition by HP, and negotiating with investors. The company disputes some of the reported financial data but has not provided specific corrections.

🚪OpenAI co-founder Schulman leaves for Anthropic

OpenAI, the prominent AI research company, is experiencing significant changes in its leadership. John Schulman, a co-founder and key figure in developing ChatGPT, has left to join rival Anthropic.

Meanwhile, president and co-founder Greg Brockman is taking an extended sabbatical until year-end. Product manager Peter Deng has also departed.

Schulman's move is driven by his desire to focus more on AI alignment research. Despite these departures, OpenAI maintains that the company will continue to thrive.

Sam Altman, CEO, expressed gratitude for Schulman's contributions. With these changes, only three of OpenAI's original eleven founders remain: Altman, Brockman, and Wojciech Zaremba.
