Want to make almost a million dollars a year working in Big Tech?

Well hopefully you’re an expert in Generative AI.

Amazon, Meta, and Netflix are hiring for a variety of roles in Generative AI with absolutely eye-popping salaries.

Last month, Netflix offered up to $900k per year for a product manager focused on AI. With the ongoing writer strike in Hollywood, Netflix may be looking to replace human actors and writers with AI versions (but that’s just speculation).

Dating app Hinge is offering $398,000 for a VP of AI to lead the company’s AI strategy.

And outside of Big Tech, companies like Capital One are offering $300k+ salaries for engineering roles focused on AI.

🤖 Google’s answer to ChatGPT shows off a new feature

Google is rolling out new features to its Search Generative Experience (SGE), including AI-generated summaries and definitions.

SGE is Google’s conversational search mode, similar to ChatGPT.

According to TechCrunch, the new features will help break down complex topics like economics or history.

If a user encounters a reference they aren’t familiar with, they can hover over and receive an AI-generated summary that quickly explains the concept from a high-level. Think of it as the next step in the evolution of featured snippets in Google search.

This will be a game-changer for breaking down long-form content.

👨‍⚖️ A new way to moderate content, from OpenAI

OpenAI just released a framework for using GPT-4 to assist in moderating content.

According to OpenAI, this framework could help automate the process of moderating content, or at least help lighten the burden of human content moderation teams.

Basically, OpenAI explained in a blog post how one could create rules for evaluating content and determining violations. Each rule has to be nuanced, but it’s possible to set up the rule once and let GPT-4 automatically make the ruling next time.

For example, you couldn’t just ban certain terms like ‘molotov cocktail’. You’d need to create specific rules that ban posts discussing the steps for making a molotov cocktail.

This kind of nuance is obvious to humans, but couldn’t be automated - until now!
